In 2011, Sweet Mastering Studio was born. Since then, he has collaborated with artists like Lisbon Film Orchestra, Rumos Ensemble, Camerata de Sopros Silva Dionísio, etc. His background as a music lover and as an audio engineer will certainly help you see the big picture in a realistic panorama and make your music sound balanced and open, by providing the best notions whether in detail, depth, impact and clarity in the most diversified devices and sound systems available. He combines the best of aesthetics and engineering in order to achieve and provide something exclusive and unique towards each client’s music.
“Mastering these days plays a more important role than ever before. Different ways to communicate and the most diverse mediums made the existence of various distinct ways of listening, consuming and playing music possible. Mastering is also a creative process. It’s so much more than ensuring that any technical requirements are addressed for the transfer to be performed free from any errors. It’s a blend of aesthetics and engineering on how we want to perceive sound and what can be done to enhance it.
For me, it’s not about the equipment, tools or sound system that I may have at the studio, it’s the people involved. We are humans, we need to feel, communicate and get inspired – every day. Music is the same. That’s why Sweet is so unique and differentiate from the other mastering studios around the globe.” – João Alves
